Guarantees

Heli skiing is a unique experience that is highly subject to weather and snowpack conditions. These conditions are constantly changing and add an element of complexity to each heli ski day. Mica may cancel heli ski days, in part or in whole, for many reasons, including inclement weather, avalanche conditions, operational emergencies, or mechanical reasons.

As such, Mica does not guarantee that you will ski each day of your tour but guarantees that you will be provided with the opportunity to ski a certain amount across the whole of your tour. No refund will be provided to you if Mica has provided you with the opportunity to meet the minimum guaranteed to you, but you fail to meet it because you arrive late for a ski day, sustain injury, become ill, decide to end your day earlier than other guests or the guide, or are instructed to stop skiing because Mica (in its sole discretion) determines that you are injured, ill, or otherwise not physically fit or able to participate.

A typical day at Mica begins at 8:30am and the last helicopter is back home by 4:30pm. In the shorter days of early winter, Mica requires the last helicopter to be home 60 minutes before sunset. This is a safety precaution, allowing time for assistance if any issues arise on the last transfer home. In the longer days of spring, Mica is constrained by Transport Canada which specifies the length of pilot hours by day and cumulatively by week.

a) Classic Program – New in 2025/26, all vertical is included in your price with no additional charges at the end of your trip no matter how much you ski or snowboard.

In the case of poor conditions, each Classic Program package includes a guaranteed minimum amount of skiing as measured in vertical meters. Mica guarantees 4,500 vertical meters skied per day per person (unless otherwise specified in your package details) but is measured cumulatively over the course of your tour. At the end of your scheduled stay, the cumulative vertical skied by each guest will be calculated.

If a guest's cumulative vertical skied is less than the guaranteed minimum for their tour AND Mica has not provided them with the cumulative opportunity to meet the guaranteed minimum, Mica will provide a refund at the rate of $269 per 1,000 meters of shortfall.

b) Private Program These packages are based on a guaranteed minimum number of cumulative “hours flown” by a group over the course of their tour in the Mica Heliskiing terrain, regardless of how many people are in the helicopter, and specifies an amount of flight hours included as part of the package price, which are exclusive to the Mica Heliskiing terrain. Your confirmation email provides the guaranteed minimum and included flight hours included as part of your package price.

At the end of your scheduled stay, the total hours your group has flown will be calculated:
     a. If the total hours flown is less than the guaranteed minimum flight hours set out in your confirmation email AND Mica has not provided you with the opportunity to meet the guaranteed minimum, Mica will provide a refund at the rate of $3990 per unused hour (or partial hour, measured in six-minute increments).
     b. If the total hours flown exceeds the guaranteed flight hours set out in your confirmation email, Mica will apply an additional charge at a rate of $3990 per additional hour flown (or partial hour, measured in six-minute increments) in excess of the included flight hours.
