BOOKING INFORMATION

STEP 2: POLICIES, MEDICAL COVERAGE, TRIP INSURANCE
Please review our Booking and Cancellation Policies, Vertical and Flight Time Guarantees and Limited Emergency Medical Coverage. We strongly recommend purchasing Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance.

Cancellation Policy
Guest Cancellation and Insurance
We understand that plans can change. The following outlines your options and responsibilities in the event of a guest-initiated cancellation. If you are unable to travel or complete your booking for any reason outside of Mica’s control, including travel disruptions, border closures, or illness, this will be considered a guest-initiated cancellation. We strongly recommend purchasing Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance to protect your travel investment from a guest-initiated cancellation.
Travel Expenses
Mica does not provide refunds or compensation for expenses related to your trip to Revelstoke, including but not limited to airfare, accommodation, or ground transportation, even in the event of a Mica-initiated cancellation. This is another reason why we strongly recommend purchasing Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance to protect your travel investment.
Health and Participation Requirements
No refunds are provided for missed heli-skiing due to illness or injury. Guests must notify Mica if they experience symptoms of illness or injury before or during their stay.
Participation is subject to applicable government health guidelines. Guests who do not meet those requirements may be refused participation. Any resulting cancellation will be treated as a guest-initiated cancellation. All guests must complete Mica’s Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement (Waiver) prior to participation.
If You Cancel Your Booking
If you are unable to travel or complete your booking for any reason, and need to cancel your reservation, you must notify us by email or phone to reservations@micaheli.com or 1-877-837-6191. Your cancellation is effective once confirmed in writing by Mica.
You may choose one of the following options:
a. Transfer Your Booking to Another Guest
Your booking may be transferred to another adult, subject to Mica’s approval. All payments must be processed directly through Mica to ensure waiver, liability, and payment requirements are met. Once payment and required documentation are complete, your refund will be processed less a 5% administrative fee.
b. Submit an Insurance Claim
You may make a claim through your Trip Cancellation or Interruption Insurance provider, if you have purchased insurance. Mica will provide supporting booking documentation upon request.
c. Request That Mica Attempt to Find a Replacement
Mica may attempt to find a replacement guest but cannot guarantee success. If a replacement is confirmed, your refund will be issued less 20% of the total pre-tax booking charge. If no replacement is secured prior to your tour start date, no refund will be provided.
If Mica Cancels Your Tour
Mica may cancel your tour at any time prior to your scheduled arrival date by providing written notice. If Mica cancels your booking, you may choose one of the following options:
a. Rebook Later in the Current Season
Apply all payments toward another available tour in the same season.
b. Defer to the Following Season
Move your reservation to the same tour for the following season at current-season pricing, with all payments applied to the new booking.
c. Receive a Full Refund
Receive a full refund of all amounts paid, including applicable taxes.
Refunds
Refunds are issued in Canadian Dollars using the original payment method and/or wire transfer. Exchange rate differences between the time of payment and refund will not be adjusted.
Weather
Mountain weather and snow conditions are dynamic. Mica retains sole discretion to determine when skiing is operationally viable.
No refunds or credits will be provided when the ski program is operating, regardless of weather or snow conditions. The Vertical and Flight Time Guarantee Policy remains in effect.
If required, Mica will communicate any changes to operational status as information becomes available, but not prior to 48 hours before the scheduled tour start date.
Vertical Guarantees
Heli skiing is a unique experience that is highly subject to weather and snowpack conditions. These conditions are constantly changing and add an element of complexity to each heli ski day. Mica may cancel heli ski days, in part or in whole, for many reasons, including inclement weather, avalanche conditions, operational emergencies, or mechanical reasons.
As such, Mica does not guarantee that you will ski each day of your tour but guarantees that you will be provided with the opportunity to ski a certain amount across the whole of your tour. No refund will be provided to you if Mica has provided you with the opportunity to meet the minimum guaranteed to you, but you fail to meet it because you arrive late for a ski day, sustain injury, become ill, decide to end your day earlier than other guests or the guide, or are instructed to stop skiing because Mica (in its sole discretion) determines that you are injured, ill, or otherwise not physically fit or able to participate.
A typical day at Mica begins at 8:30am and the last helicopter is back home by 4:30pm. In the shorter days of early winter, Mica requires the last helicopter to be home 60 minutes before sunset. This is a safety precaution, allowing time for assistance if any issues arise on the last transfer home. In the longer days of spring, Mica is constrained by Transport Canada which specifies the length of pilot hours by day and cumulatively by week.
a) Classic Program – All vertical is included in your price with no additional charges at the end of your trip no matter how much you ski or snowboard.
In the case of poor conditions, each Classic Program package includes a guaranteed minimum amount of skiing as measured in vertical meters. Mica guarantees 4,500 vertical meters skied per day per person (unless otherwise specified in your package details) but is measured cumulatively over the course of your tour. At the end of your scheduled stay, the cumulative vertical skied by each guest will be calculated.
If a guest's cumulative vertical skied is less than the guaranteed minimum for their tour AND Mica has not provided them with the cumulative opportunity to meet the guaranteed minimum, Mica will provide a refund at the rate of $269 per 1,000 meters of shortfall.
b) Private Program – These packages are based on a guaranteed minimum number of cumulative “hours flown” by a group over the course of their tour in the Mica Heliskiing terrain, regardless of how many people are in the helicopter, and specifies an amount of flight hours included as part of the package price, which are exclusive to the Mica Heliskiing terrain. Your confirmation email provides the guaranteed minimum and included flight hours included as part of your package price.
At the end of your scheduled stay, the total hours your group has flown will be calculated:
a. If the total hours flown is less than the guaranteed minimum flight hours set out in your confirmation email AND Mica has not provided you with the opportunity to meet the guaranteed minimum, Mica will provide a refund at the rate of $3990 per unused hour (or partial hour, measured in six-minute increments).
b. If the total hours flown exceeds the guaranteed flight hours set out in your confirmation email, Mica will apply an additional charge at a rate of $3990 per additional hour flown (or partial hour, measured in six-minute increments) in excess of the included flight hours.
Emergency Medical Insurance
Mica obtains limited Emergency Medical Insurance coverage for all confirmed guests. View a summary of the Emergency Medical Policy to ensure it meets your needs.
This policy ONLY covers you from the time you arrive at Mica Lodge until midnight on the day of your departure from Mica Lodge. We recommend you purchase additional coverage to meet your needs and cover those portions of your trip not spent at Mica Lodge.
