In 2012 Mica's heli- access lodge was upgraded from an aging chalet to a brand new state-of-the-art facility. Designed by CEI Architecture and built by Vic Van Isle Construction, it is a 15 705 square foot haven for heliskiers seeking adventure and luxury. Situated in the Canadian Rockies at the convergence of the Selkirk and Monashee mountain ranges, the lodge boasts spectacular views from all angles. It is decorated with a rich natural pallate of wood, stone, leather and local original art- there is something beautiful to discover in every corner.
In building the lodge we aimed to minmize environmental impact in the area as much as possible. Substantial efforts were made towards minimizing water consumption by installing low flow water fixtures in each of the twelve guest suites and staff wing. Elements of passive solar-heat and a high performance building envelope were incorporated in the design to reduce energy consumption and heat loss. Renewable building materials were chosen whenever possible.
The lodge hosts up to twenty guests per tour with deluxe suites, roof top hot tubs, a fitness centre, buisiness centre, massage quarters, personal ski lockers, a bar and cozy retreat rooms throughout. It is the perfect place to celebrate an amazing day on the slopes with other guests, or curl up in a quiet corner with your book. Perched above the mighty Columbia River at the base of Mt. Dainard- Mica Lodge is truly a mountain paradise.
