2021/22 Guest Booking FAQ's

For all International visitors, the Government of Canada’s current requirements are that visitors are fully vaccinated and complete a negative Covid test within 72 hours of planned entry.

For details on the travel requirements to get to Mica lodge view our travel information package here.

Will Mica require guests to be fully vaccinated?

The current requirements to enter Canada include that all international travellers are fully vaccinated; therefore, all of Mica's guests will be vaccinated. Fully vaccinated travellers are those who have completed the full course of vaccination with a Government of Canada-accepted vaccine at least 14 days prior to entering Canada. Mica does not anticipate these requirements will change for the winter 2022 season.

As an international traveller, is there a mandatory quarantine still required upon entering Canada?

American Travellers: Fully vaccinated American travellers with a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to entrance to Canada are not required to quarantine upon arrival to Canada.

Non-American International Travellers: The Government of Canada is requiring all international travellers, outside of the United States, to be administered a PCR test at the airport upon arrival in Canada and will be required to self-isolate until their test results are available. PCR testing may take up to 48 hours to complete, so please note that you should plan to arrive further in advance of your trip to Mica.

*It is the guests' responsibility to ensure that all entry and testing requirements are met before arriving at Mica.  Mica will not provide refunds to guests who choose to proceed with Mica bookings, but fail to meet the entry requirements for international travellers.

Will Mica staff be required to be fully vaccinated?

Yes, we will be requiring all guests and staff of Mica to be fully vaccinated with a Government of Canada-accepted vaccine at least 14 days prior to their arrival at Mica lodge.

Do you think the Government of Canada's visitor entry requirements will change? If so, can I hold out and see if Canada will allow unvaccinated travellers to enter at a later date?

We do not anticipate the Canadian Government's border entry requirements to change during the 2021-22 season. As such, all guests coming to Mica during this coming season must be fully vaccinated.

Will I be required to take a COVID test to come to Mica?

At this time, all international travellers and Canadian travellers arriving by air, will have taken a COVID test prior to their travels to our lodge. We will not be requiring an additional test from these guests. All other guests and Mica staff will be taking covid tests prior to arriving at the lodge throughout the season.

*Mica will have rapid tests available at our lodge in order to provide a rapid response should a staff member or guest develop symptoms while at the lodge.

Will guests and staff be required to wear masks at the lodge?

Under current provincial guidelines, masks are required to be worn in our lodge and helicopters for fully vaccinated guests and staff.

*Mica will follow all provincial guidelines and requirements on the wearing of masks. We will notify you prior to your trip should this provincial guideline change between present day and your trip dates.

What if Canada closes the border to international visitors again? What happens to my money, booking and flights?

Within four (4) weeks prior to your trip date, if Government-imposed travel restrictions are in place we will provide you with the following options:

  • Continue to hold your booking, with the option for a full refund or credit if travel restrictions remain in place at the time of your trip;
  • Move your entire payment, including deposit, to the 2022/23 season; or
  • Receive a full refund if neither of the above options are satisfactory to you.

When is my payment due and is it refundable?
