That's what our ski holidays are- challenge and exhilaration rolled into one! All we require is that Mica Heliskiing guests should be confident, intermediate to advanced level skiers/snowboarders in good physical condition. All guests should be aware that the ski terrain is remote, wilderness skiing. For those new to such ski trips, it is a idea to use Mica Heli's powder skis (often searched as “ skiis”) for comfortable skiing and also to pick up newer skiing techniques easily.
While the adventure would be high on the challenge and excitement quotient, we at Mica Heliskiing also ensure a high level of safety (The ACMG/UIAGM Safety Program minimizes risks substantially). So, while you do have a whole lot of options to pick ski tours and guides across B.C, we would like to warn you to be cautious. Ski retreats and organizers are aplenty so be careful who you pick!

In all the excitement of packing for and enjoying this memorable adventure be sure to spare a thought for things like your skiis, ski boots, ski helmet, goggles etc. A ski helmet affords protection not only for speed-lovers but also for amateurs from injuries caused by head-on-collisions and falls. When pitted against the elements, having a ski helmet on is pretty much advisable.
While out on your Mica Heliskiing experience, you can bring your own skiis, especially if they're a wide or fat skiis. If you don't own your own fat skiis, it is recommended that you use Mica Heli's fat powder skiis - the K2 Chief or Seth Viscious- provided free. Poles are also available for your use. You will need to bring your own ski boots though. Because checked baggage oftentimes is delayed or lost, DON'T FORGET TO CARRY ON YOUR SKI BOOTS FOR YOUR FLIGHT TO CALGARY OR KELOWNA.
While there's some opportunity to warm up in the helicopter, and most of the Heli-skiing rides are short, lunch is eaten outdoors, so be prepared to dress warmly. Bring multiple layers of warm, non-restrictive, breathable and water-resistant clothing, including long underwear. A jacket with a "powder-skirt" and some good-quality powder gloves are a big advantage. High-quality, well-vented goggles are a must. If wearing a helmet, use one with a low profile or 3/4 coverage shell with removabl ear guards so you will be able to hear your guide. The key for these ski trips is: function over form. Wool hats are far better than ball caps with bills, which are a big disadvantage around a helicopter. For evenings, casual wear is normal. And remember your swimming trunks for the hot tub.
