To make your stay as comfortable and memorable as your ski runs, we have an intimate backcountry lodge with all the comforts of a luxury home but high in the Rockies, accessible only by helicopter. This gives you the freedom from crowds that are typical of popular ski vacation destinations. Our beautiful backcountry lodge lies on a broad, open slope rising into the Rocky Mountains, with a spectacular view of the huge and picturesque Kinbasket Lake. Accessible in winter only by helicopter, the lodge can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests. Each of our six guest rooms has ensuite bathrooms and is double or triple occupancy. As remote as the lodge may be, it's as comfortable as home, with self-generated power, satellite TV, wireless Internet, and emergency telephone access. After each full day of powder skiing or boarding (or hiking or fishing in summer), the Mica Heli ski lodge becomes your personal haven to return, refresh, relax - and recount your great adventures.
Mica Heli ski vacation packages can be customized to suit different budgets and specific outdoors and indoors activities. Discount ski vacations can be arranged either as part of our off-season ski vacation packages or as special discounts at the discretion of Mica Heli Guides. All our ski vacation packages include accommodation, all meals (on a set plan), transfers from Revelstoke to the MHG backcountry lodge (and return), and the use of an avalanche transceiver and powder skis. At Mica Heli, we use the A-Star helicopter, an industry standard for private tours and have a highly skilled team of guides and rescue professionals to take care of the rare problem that may arise during your ski vacation with us. Each of our guides meets or exceeds the requirements of 'a guide' as set by the B.C. Heli and Snowcat Operators Association guidelines. The guides have also been trained and certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and/or are members of the International Federation of Mountain Guides. Mica Heli Guides works continuously at keeping their processes and techniques in line with the latest and strives to minimize risks associated with backcountry helicopter skiing in several ways. Each guest is required to take part in a formal Helicopter Safety Briefing and a Back Country Safety School on the first day of the ski vacation. Included in these sessions is the use of standard avalanche safety equipment, including avalanche transceivers. All groups are led by a professionally trained and certified guide. These certified guides carefully study and survey the mountain conditions, ski slopes, the ability level of the group and other elements that may affect the overall safety of the group.
