Every year, Snowboarder Magazine recognizes the best and brightest in the sport with various awards. The most prestigious are Rider, Jumper, and Video Part of the Year. In 2010, for the second year in a row, John Jackson is being rewarded with all three. Jackson has long been among the elite of the snowboarding world, and his role in Forum's latest award winning movie, “F*** It,” was just phenomenal. It was his amazing closer in the movie that won him the Jumper and Video awards. The movie plus everything else he did last year is what earned him Rider of the Year.

It's a big honor, and there aren't any snowboarders out there that are more deserving. Jackson not only rides like a very talented maniac, he's also polite and straight forward. Truly an ambassador for the sport, Jackson will forever be an icon in the sport.

We here at Mica Heli Guides are certainly impressed with Jackson's body of work. He is a role model for up-and-coming riders throughout the world. Jackson is no stranger to the backcountry either. Here at Mica Heli Guides, we've got plenty of backcountry on our 72,000 hectare tenure. From the big mountain steeps to the super long pillow lines and wide open powder bowls, we're proud to say we've got it all.

Powder heli ski vacations are a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and something that every skier or snowboarder would love to get a chance to enjoy. Your visit to Mica includes a stay in our luxurious lodge. Perched high above the beautiful Kinbasket Lake, our backcountry lodge is surrounded by spectacular terrain. Some of that terrain is some of the best tree skiing you'll find here on the western slopes of the Canadian Rockies. It is here that we go catskiing on those rare days when the weather keeps the helicopter on the ground. Book a tour today and come experience what B.C. heliskiing is all about.
